Any home garage requires a good selection of automotive tools to carry out work on a car. Some vehicles from certain manufacturers have non standard machining and sizes used throughout their construction, and you will need to get automotive specialty tools designed for the purpose of working on that particular car from a motor store. No home workshop is complete without a trolley jack and axle stands to allow you to get under the car and do things like oil changes and exhaust checks.
If you would like to avoid the disorganized appearance of a garage and have a place to park you car in doors, you need little more than shelves for home and garage use and a plan to use them. Look at the layout of your garage and see what can best be used for shelving and where to put it. How is it that you use your garage? Does it double as a wood working shop, is it the center for yard and garden work, or is it just the repository for anything and everything that has outgrown its usefulness in your home?
The decking is the final component in a shelving system and also comes in a variety of styles and materials. The most common materials include wire, steel, plastic, particleboard and solid wood. Again the strength of the material is governed by its thickness. Both wire and steel decking is measured in gauge while plastic, particleboard and solid wood is measured in thickness, usually in inches. It is important to note that a shelving system may only be rated for its support frame and the material used for the decking may not support the stated load capacity.
