If you would like to avoid the disorganized appearance of a garage and have a place to park you car in doors, you need little more than shelves for home and garage use and a plan to use them. Look at the layout of your garage and see what can best be used for shelving and where to put it. How is it that you use your garage? Does it double as a wood working shop, is it the center for yard and garden work, or is it just the repository for anything and everything that has outgrown its usefulness in your home?
Shelving units in their basic form consist of a frame and decking material. The frame can be constructed out of a variety of materials with the most common being steel sheet. The thickness of sheet metal is called its gauge and the lower its gauge number is, the thicker the steel is. Steel sheet ranges from about 30 gauge to 8 gauge, with thinner 30+ material called foil and thicker 8+ material called plate. The steel sheet is formed into structural members with various shapes for different applications and load carrying capacities. The capacities can range anywhere from a couple hundred pounds to 30,000 pounds or more.
Repairs can be simple like the above mentioned or they can be a little more difficult. A well-used garage door is more prone to blowing out. They can take a beating but after time they all start to go out. Having a repair person come over and look at it can save you the time and money of going out and buying a new one of it is fixable. A system repair person can fix these magically as they just may need a new part or to be tightened in certain areas.
